Business Benefit

The use of OpenTools messages provided as REST services in JSON format helps make integration with the EDGE platform a faster and more efficient process.

FYI . . .

  • REST – Representational State Transfer; an architectural style that specifies constraints (such as the uniform interface) that, if applied to an API, induce desirable properties such as performance, scalability and modifiability that enable services to work best on the Web.
  • JSON – JavaScript Object Notation; an open-standard file format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects consisting of attribute–value pairs and array data types (or any other serializable value). JSON is often used for serializing and transmitting structured data over a network connection. It is used primarily to transmit data between a server and Web application, serving as an alternative to XML.

  1. Maxim Bogdanov  Margaret Mays can either of you confirm details on destination setup influence resulting from this new way to send incoming message into OpenTools?

    1. Response from Max:
It will entail a new Destination system type HTTP/HTTPS for all new API messages.
